Slumdog... star Dev Patel in Mumbai to complete patchwork shoot of directorial debut, Monkey Man

Dev Patel’s directorial debut Monkey Man has been in the news since last year when Netflix bagged its streaming rights. While the principal photography of the Patel and Sobhita Dhulipala-starrer was wrapped up last year, it is heard that the actor-director has flown down to Mumbai for the patchwork shoot. Patel has apparently lined up a fortnight-long shoot that will take place in and around the city with Dhulipala and Sikandar Kher.

A source close to the film’s production unit reveals, “The post-production of Monkey Man is going on in full swing. We have some minor portions to complete, which we will wrap up in two weeks.” The action thriller revolves around Patel’s character who emerges from prison to take on a world immersed in corporate greed and seek revenge on those who upended his life years ago. The film is written by Patel, Paul Angunawela and John Collee, and is slated to drop online later this year.
