Ever since his first look was unveiled, Sanjay Dutt’s Adheera has become one of the talking points of KGF: Chapter 2. The actor, playing the ruthless antagonist, will be seen locking horns with Yash in Prashanth Neel’s action thriller that releases today. Unlike his fans who are eager to watch the second instalment, Dutt reveals that daughter Iqra will skip the film. The 11-year-old has her reasons. “Iqra doesn’t watch movies where my character dies. Every time I sign a movie, her first question is, ‘Are you going to die in the film?’ Shahraan, on the other hand, is excited. I have been told that he is boasting about the film to his friends at school,” laughs Dutt.

Regardless of its box-office fate, KGF: Chapter 2 will remain etched in Dutt’s memory. It was during the film’s shoot in 2020 that he was diagnosed with lung cancer. After his recovery, the actor bounced back to complete the filming. “I [resumed] my training as soon as the doctors and my body allowed it. I have been leading a disciplined life since my illness.” The post-recovery journey has been challenging, but he insists it has only made him emotionally stronger. “I was blessed to have Maanayata and the kids by my side. My wife has been my biggest strength and my kids, my motivation through this journey.”
