Your favourite makeup product?
Under-eye liquid concealer. I’ve had dark circles since childhood so this is something I wear every day.

The first make-up product you bought as a teenager?
Red colour nail polish. I used to wear it on my feet and hide it under socks as school rules for nail polish were super strict. A ruler on the knuckle if caught with nail polish was a given.

The product you wanted to steal from your mom or sister?
Their skin itself! My mother has the most amazing skin and never used makeup. Even now at 80, she barely has wrinkles. So definitely her skin. Other than that I would steal her perfumes regularly - L'air du temps by Nina Ricci was her signature fragrance.

Your skincare routine?
Moisturise (I make my own skin cream and don’t use any commercial products) Other than that I apply hyaluronic acid gel regularly and use sunscreen.

How did you learn to look after your skin and do makeup correctly?
Practice. One has to figure out what works best for themselves. One tip I learnt rather late is to use squalene oil under makeup. It keeps the skin moisturised.

The items one will always find in your make-up kit?
Concealer, lip balm and mousse foundation. Also, solid beeswax perfumes – I love these.

Make-up or skincare goof ups from the past?
So many! As a kid, I used to prick my pimples with a safety pin in desperation. In fact, as a young teen, I was selected to be the Clearasil girl. The night before the campaign shoot I got a huge pimple right between my brows. In a panic, I pricked it with a safety pin and then rubbed Dettol on it. Luckily they were able to cover up the bruised skin with makeup but I never pricked a pimple after that.

The make-up trend you wish to try?
All of them! I love trying new stuff. Of course, it has to suit you or it’s a disaster. I prefer to go with what I think suits me rather than follow trends blindly.

The make-up product you would never be caught wearing?
Green or black lipstick! Very non-aesthetic to my eye.

The lipstick or gloss and eye shadow shades that are your favourite?
All shades of pink. I think pink.

The make-up trick that always works for you?
Just moisturiser and under-eye concealer. Leave the rest of the skin bare.

The make-up trick that always works for you?
I’m a great believer in science and like to stay updated on wellness products. As I’ve grown older, I’ve added hyaluronic gel and retinol creams to my routine. And I drink 1000 mg of fizzy vitamin C with zinc. I also take collagen supplements and biotin for a few months of the year.  Seems to be working well for me so far. Ultimately joy is the best nutrition so I try to stay upbeat and do things that bring me joy.
