Exhibitor Rajesh Thadani says, “The second quarter of this year has been saved by Hollywood films.”
The first three days' collection of this Avengers film is six times more than that of 'The Avengers' (2012). Trade analyst Taran Adarsh says, “If you offer good content, people will throng cinema halls and that is obvious from the Age of Ultron's collections.”
Another trade expert, Amod Mehra, agrees. “The success of Hollywood films in India has jolted the Hindi film industry. 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron' was released only on 2D format, but has managed to do extraordinary business,” he adds.
Comparing two of the biggest Hollywood films to have released recently, trade pundits says 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron' was released on 1500 screens and did a business of Rs 35.75 crore while 'Furious 7' opened on 2200 screens and raked in Rs 48 crore over a four-day weekend. A trade source says, “Among Hollywood films, Age of Ultron got the highest non-holiday opening, considering the screen average.”
