The pop queen also stripped down to her bra to reveal “Obama” stenciled in big letters on her back, before promising: ‘When Obama is in the White House for a second term I''ll take it all off’.”
She listed American icons Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King before turning to Obama, of whom she is a well known supporter. “They fought for our freedom, not just African Americans, but for all people… who are different, unconventional or people who want to believe in what they believe… Y’all better vote for f**king Obama, OK?”
However, following a backlash over her remarks, Madonna insisted she was merely mocking some right-wing factions who believe the politician is a follower of Islam.
‘Was being ironic’
A statement from the star read, “I was being ironic on stage. Yes, I know Obama is not a Muslim — though I know that plenty of people in this country think he is. And what if he were?” u00a0
“The point I was making is that a good man is a good man, no matter who he prays to. I don’t care what religion Obama is — nor should anyone else in America.”
She has also upset fans in Australia by cancelling her tour there yet again, citing commitments to her four children as the reason. The tour would have been her first visit to Australia in 20 years.
