Selena Gomez has revealed that she opted to do a raunchy new movie 'Spring Breakers' because she wanted to challenge herself and break her image as miss goody-two-shoes.
The movie, which is an 18-certificate film featuring drugs, knives, guns, swearing and sex, casts Gomez with Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine as four college girls who rob a fast food restaurant to pay for their spring break.

The 20-year-old singer-actor said that for her, this movie was the perfect baby step into playing more serious adult roles, the Sun reported.
Gomez admitted she had no real-life experience of the outrageous behaviour of the characters in the film and said that her mum Mandy would never have allowed her to indulge in the film’s drunken beach parties.
Selena, who started acting aged nine in TV’s Barney ‘n’ Friends said that she has a natural instinct not to go overboard because she thinks that it’s possible to have a good time and not lose control.
The ‘Love You Like a Love Song’ star also said that growing up is all about making mistakes and then learning from them.
She added that she thinks that her fans trust her and know her to a certain extent and so she is trying to do the best she can do to challenge herself and not disappoint them.u00a0
