Dosanjh, 32, who is making his debut in Hindi film industry with multistarrer 'Udta Punjab', will be romancing an A-list Bollywood actress in Rohit's movie.
"I am working with Diljit on a rom-com. This will be my first Bollywood project after a gap of 10 years. I want to make a great comeback. We are planning to cast an A-list Bollywood actress opposite Diljit." Rohit said.
The filmmaker was all praise for Diljit and said he is the best thing about Abhishek Chaubey-directed movie, which also stars Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt.
"He is a very dedicated actor. Without thinking once I can say Diljit is the best thing about 'Udta Punjab'".
Rohit, who made his Bollywood directorial debut with 2005 film "James," has worked as assistant director with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ram Gopal Varma.
The director said working with two completely different kind of filmmakers taught him that cinema does not have a single language.
"Sanjay sir is someone who will not shoot a scene till the time all the candles are not lit up and RGV is the man, who can covert a blind school in Sarkaar's house.
"The two are completely different and working with them made me understand that cinema doesn't have a fixed language. One has to create their own language to reach out to the people," he said.
After making his Bollywood debut, Rohit decided to move to Punjabi films as for him regional cinema is much more closer and real in terms of its content.
"The reason why regional cinema is doing great is its strong content. The detailing and the whole process of story telling is real and connected to the roots. People feel they are looking at their own story.
"On the other hand, most of Bollywoood films don't look real at all. The comman man aspires for such life, but never connects with it. However, films like 'Piku' are a relief," he said.
Also starring Sonam Bajwa and Monica Gill, "Sardaar Ji 2" will hit the screens on June 24.
