Film director Sohan Roy said Saturday he has filed a cheating case against Bollywood actress Tulip Joshi for not completing the shooting for his film "Dam 999" despite taking part of her remuneration amounting to Rs.8.5 lakh.

"The actress asked for half of the payment (Rs.7 lakh) before the film. Biz TV Network also paid her Rs.1.5 lakh as the installment for the first schedule. The actress came and shot for two days and then just left. Tulip was asked to return the payment and settle the matter, but we haven't heard from her," said a press release, issued from the office of Roy, along with a copy of the FIR that has been registered at the Kalamassery Police Station.

"Dam 999", a tribute to the victims of the 1975 Banqiao dam disaster in China, is getting closer for release as its shooting has been completed.

It will be released in both English and Malayalam shortly.

The cast includes National Award-winning actor Rajit Kapur, Ashish Vidyarthi, Linda Arsenio, Joshua Fredric Smith, Jaala Pickering, Megha Burman, Vimala Raman, Vinay Rai and Jineet Rath.

Megha Burman has now replaced Tulip Joshi for the role of Razia, a Pakistani character in the film.

The film is produced by Middle East-based Marine BizTV and directed by Roy, CEO of Aries Telecasting Limited, the parent company of Marine BizTV in Dubai.

Tulip is best remembered for her role in "Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai", her debut movie opposite Jimmy Shergill.
