National Award-winning filmmaker Srijit Mukherji on Thursday announced that singer-turned-politician Babul Supriyo will play an "integral part" in his upcoming film "Gumnami", which is based on the life of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

A man who led the life of a reclusive Hindu saint in Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh in the 1970s and 80s came to be known as the "Gumnami Baba". Those who met him claimed that he was none other than Subhas Chandra Bose, whose reported death in a plane crash in 1945 has been doubted by many.
