After the comeback of popular television series Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai and Khichdi, another yesteryear show Zabaan Sambhalke is all set to revisit the audiences. However, there's a twist here. The show will not be returning in a TV show format. It will be served on Ekta Kapoor's digital platform, AltBalaji in the form of web series. Zabaan Sambhalke, which starred Pankaj Kapur, Viju Khote, Shobha Kote and Tom Alter, will be remade with a fresh cast, reports Dna.

The show, will once again be helmed by Rajiv Mehra, who directed the original show. Zabaan Sambhalke will be presented in a 10-episode series. The cult show had fabulous performances by its cast. When the publication asked about maintaining the performance at par with it, Rajiv Mehra said, "Yes, that's the challenge. So far, we have finalised Sumeet Raghavan to play the role of the teacher (originally essayed by Kapur), while Shoma Anand will be the principal. We are still casting for the other seven-eight roles."
Mehra further reveals the reason for the show being presented in a web series format instead of a full-fledged television show. "Web series is the flavour right now. Also, it allows us slightly more freedom to do things, which can be a little more naughty, fresh, and without stereotypes. The format of the show will largely remain the same, but the characters will be new and tweaked as per today's times. It will be fresh for the new generation who might have heard about it but not seen it," said Mehra.
