His reputation precedes him. Rajat Tokas, who is returning to the tube with Ekta Kapoor's period show 'Chandra Nandini', is labelled arrogant, unfriendly and rude.
Recently, there was buzz about the telly actor refusing to work with his 'Jodha Akbar' director, Santaram, who helmed just one episode of the new show. However, Ekta refuted the rumours, saying Santaram is still part of her other projects. The actor says he doesn't care about criticism or rumours.
"I am here to act; that's my only job. He is busy with his show and I am busy in mine. Some mediapersons threatened to do negative stories on me and ruin my career. Yet, here I am. Media's negative impressions of me don't make or break me. Ekta is giving me work, my bosses and channel love my performance, and I have my family's support.
Also, my fans never stopped loving me. Why must I care what anyone else thinks? The media is not putting food on my table. If they are happy criticising me, I am okay with that," he says.
Rajat doesn't believe in making sacrifices or compromising. "I have done everything being extremely righteous. Maybe, that's why people hate me. I am a man who knows what is right or wrong, and I don't deviate from that," he adds.
