Excerpts from the interview...
You forte is dancing, how did you think of showcasing your talent on Social Media? What has the journey been like?
Shrashti: Our journey started with dancing and we have been training for eight years now. We were inspired by top creators from the fashion field like Santoshi Shetty, Komal Pandey and international dancers like Jadebug. We started making videos around two years ago but our parents were not supportive of us doing this, as they did not approve of us entering this industry or being a part of social media. So, we have struggled on our own, and have reached where we have on our own, and we proved them wrong by being independent and surviving on our own money. I think they are now quite convinced that we can make a career out of it.
Can you share your experience of being a part of the Fame House with us?
Prakriti: The experience was great. We had so much fun, but I think the other influencers were not really ready to gel, as they probably thought they were superior and we don't belong here. Initially we did try to do all activities together, but then after a couple of days a lot of groupism started happening and we felt left out. However we had a lot of fun as the property was amazing, the food was amazing.
Did your followers increase after your stint at the Fame House? By how much did it grow?
Shrashti: With Fame House, the reach has been phenomenal. Before MX TakaTak Fame House we were not getting the reach we deserved, in spite of being dancers and being twins as well considering the content we were delivering. Fame House helped us connect with the right audience. Since we collaborated with the other influencers, their audience started following us too so it was definitely good for us. On Insta we went from 20K to 70K and on MX TakaTak it went from 337K to 1.5M.
Did you get endorsements post the show? If, yes, which brands have approached you?
Prakriti: Yes we got a request for collaboration with Tinder and we shot a video also for them.
Srashti: We are also getting a lot of requests for song promotions…We are going to soon shoot a video for Rockak Kohli for his song 'Yeh Dil'.
MX Takatak has taken the initiative to make a star out of you? What do you think about it?
Shrashti: It is a great initiative and MX Takatak really appreciates talent and they are giving an opportunity to new talent and new faces.
Prakriti: Which is rare because most people are behind celebs and known faces, but MX is giving opportunity to new people.
Did you learn any new skills at the Fame House or do you think your original skills were enhanced? Did you get to learn anything new from anyone?
Srashti: We learnt a lot at Fame House. We learnt how to make quick videos from other creators and we also learnt how to lip-sync well. We learnt how to do TakaTak (short video format) acting which is different from real acting.
Any Fan /Follower moment post Fame House you would like to share?
Prakriti: Oh my God…we have a lot of fans, there is a lot of love coming to us from Takatak, Insta as well as YouTube and people are loving us as a whole personality now.
Srashti: We are getting comments like - You guys are really good on Fame House. We love your dressing sense, the way you speak. Also when we went out on the last day, we had people coming to us to take pictures and selfies with us, so that really felt amazing. It all happened due to Fame Hose.
Did you make any friends /enemies at the Fame House?
Srashti: Friends definitely yes! We had a great time with Vish & Sophia. We didn't really make enemies but we didn't gel much with the rest. Not our kind of vibes.
What was your most memorable moment at the Fame House?
Prakriti: I think we enjoyed the beach day the most. It was fresh air, good food and water around us and that made us really happy.
What was the one thing you liked most about Fame House?
Prakriti: That people are together and making videos and they are more passionate about it. They take their work very seriously and they used to see to it that they made 3-4 videos at least every day. Being locked with them under one roof was a good learning.
Srashti: What was incredible was that all the creators were under one roof for seven days, and that made us all create a lot of videos and content together. They go beyond their creativity and everyone did different genres of videos beyond their forte, so overall everyone experimented a lot. We made a everybody dance so that was nice.
