Much love for Bandra's senior citizens

Over the last few days, Bandra has been abuzz with activities, thanks to the Bandra's Got Spice festival. This evening, too, you can look out for a few exciting events lined up for the young, and old.

Witness participants impersonate Bandra's beloved old-time uncles and aunties, and the manner in which they exaggerate every little incident with their baritones at the Amchi Uncle Aunty Contest.

Ongoing till November 15, the week-long fest packs in a large number of competitions, from photography and cook-offs to karaoke, and a game of Housie too. Flaunt your motor skills in Phekum Phek — a throwball event — and Stumped! (a cricket competition). If you love the performing arts, participate in Rasta Rhymes, a street-dance event, or Chhota Oscar that features one-act short plays.

In a bid to celebrate the legacy of the suburb, Bandra's Got Spice began as a Facebook group, and has gathered 6,800 members till date. A positive response led the group to take the initiatve offline. This is the first edition of the festival. Proceeds from the festival will go to Bandra's old age home, Mother Teresa's Roses.
