Youth for a United World brings to Mumbai the United World Week Fest, in an endeavour to converge the diversities of our generation
United World Week Fest
The United World Week Fest, titled Discovering Fraternities: Fabric, Flavour, Festival, this year, will mark the culmination of the International United World Week 2015. This time, its highlight event will be in Mumbai, which is a first. The fest is organised by Youth for a United World, a part of the Focolare Movement, which was born out of an initiative by Chiara Lubich, an Italian activist, in 1943, as she set her motto: "Youth of the world, unite!"

All events are by Youth for a United World through initiatives like Genfest and UWW Fest, held worldwide. While the fest is organised every year in a different continent, the focus this year is on Asia. With India as the host of the event, participants from 18 countries will participate in the highlight event of the week today.
Youth from India and overseas will experience a flamboyant display of their cultures and art through drama, dance, music and artistic representations. Three events will be in line, starting with the Unithlon, the sports fest and followed by Fraternity Canvas, which will include wall paintings.
It will conclude with U-Nite, the presentation of choreographies by Indian and global artistes who will explore the theme of fraternity. This extravaganza is open to all, except for the sports event, Unithlon, which is meant for 17 to 30-year-olds. Jason Almeida, one of the organisers, said, "This will be a great opportunity for youth across cultures and experiences to bond and build a universal fraternity."
