Dear Diana,
I’m 25 and have a girlfriend. Last week, we were at a friend’s party and I don’t remember what really happened. All I know is I was drunk and she left me in the middle of the party. The next thing I know is that she has broken off with me. None of my friends have a clue about what really made her do that. She is not picking up my phone and is not ready to meet me either. I’ve never cheated on her.

Dear Amar,
Looks like you were so high that you can’t even recollect what you did with whom. You went too far in your drunk stupor which obviously left her angry and she decided to dump you. Next time remember not to drink too much if you cannot take care of yourself. At the same time, she is behaving too highhanded. When she realised that you were overdoing it, she should have stopped you in the tracks or better still walked out with you from the bash. After being party to the merry making, she cannot behave in such a manner. Check with common friends what you were up to to get a clear picture of what happened.
Dear Diana,
I am 39 and jobless for the last two months. I was in a relationship with a colleague at office who was quite fond of me. But once I lost my job, she stopped showing interest in me. At one point of time, I even contemplated marriage with her. She is 33 and unmarried too. Did she love me or the job?

Dear Umair,
She loved you and the job. It’s strange that instead of helping you find another one, she is driving home the point that you are jobless so she wants nothing to do with you. She is not worth your love and your time. Let her be and start looking for a job instead.
