Dear Diana,
I’ve started going around with this guy who is my friend’s ex. When my pal found out, she was angry. She told me that it would be awkward for her to be around, so I stopped speaking to him. He’s a really nice guy and we were planning a future together. The reason my friend and he went their separate ways was because she is still in love with her ex, but won’t admit it.

Dear Farah,
You are caught between your pal and your guy. If you think he is the best bet for you, there is no need to cut off ties with him. It is clear that your buddy broke off with him as she was still in love with her ex. You have to make her realise it. Talk to her and try to knock sense into her head as to the real reason why she parted ways with him. It was not his fault if she was undecided between him and her ex flame. She can still be cordial with this guy. Also, she does not need to hang around with you when he is there. She wanted to be with her ex and that is what she got.
Dear Diana,
I’m 28 and my office is posting me in Singapore for about six months. They are setting up an office there and need a helping hand. My fiance isn’t too keen on it. He travels a lot for work, but doesn’t want me to do the same. This has made me think twice about a future with him. He says he might break off the engagement if I go to Singapore. I find his behaviour silly and juvenile.

Dear Sharda,
Your guy is an immature and demanding person. It is ridiculous for him to even suggest that he will break up the engagement if you take up the Singapore assignment. You need to discuss it with him, before resorting to any drastic action. Also, get another member of the family to make him see sense.
