Dear Diana,
I am 30 and my girlfriend is 28. We have been together for two years and are planning to get married next year. She's just the girl I ever wanted. But recently a friend of mine told me in vivid detail about her past and her former boyfriend. I was taken aback. I know it is the past, but at the same time it's hard looking at her the same way as I did before. She had told me about her ex-flame, but this guy has filled me in with stuff which has left me shocked. How they used to indulge in public display of affection and throw caution to the wind. I now find her past haunting me continuously. What do I do? It is not that she kept me in the dark, but at the same time I cannot digest this truth. I cannot come to terms with the fact that she had got physical with another guy earlier.

Dear Nakul,
You are 30 and mature enough to handle such a situation. She did not hide her past from you. This friend is creating trouble between you two. When he realised that you were getting serious about her, he decided to spill the beans. I am sure he has his own agenda in this. Why did he not tell you all this while about her past? He just wants to create trouble between you two. It is not that she was cheating on you. That relationship did not work out and she has moved on. You may have had another woman on the scene earlier, what if your girlfriend had asked you details about your relationship? So it's silly to even think of such stuff. Banish such thoughts and get going with this girl who is everything you ever wanted. The next time your pal comes up with a story to tell, do not encourage him.
