Gurgaon has much to offer when it comes to food. But Jolly Rogers stands out for its sheer variety
Would you venture out on a weekday evening from Okhla to Gurgaon for dinner? The answer, in all probability, would be a no. Not because Gurgaon sucks when it comes to food. Quite the opposite. The CEO city has enough options for the food lover.
It's the unending traffic jams that eat up hours that are the deterrent. But we had heard good things about Jolly Rogers. So we decided to give it a try. And if first looks are anything to go by, we were mighty impressed as we stepped in.
Located on the main Gurgaon-Mehrauli road in Gurgaon, the restaurant gives you a feel of tropical paradise. The d ufffdcor is a mix of Polynesian and contemporary theme with exotic tribal masks. All of this while soaking up the Gurgaon skyline from this 10th floor club lounge.
There is also a large outdoor terrace with features like thatched gazebos, abundant greenery and even art crafts handpicked from the islands. We chose the outdoors as we gazed at the vastness of the night sky while smoking flavoured hookahs.
Ordering our standard Grey Goose with tonic water, we glanced at the menu. Serving a delectable blend of multi-cuisineu00a0-- from live crabs to Tenderloin teriyaki to Grilled mango crepes to Noodles with pineapple and everything in betweenu00a0-- Jolly Rogers has it all.
But one of the things you should absolutely must try is their Indian Kebab Platter. They almost melt in your mouth, We have not had such juicy kebabs in a while. We also ordered the fish and chips and were rather impressed with the quality of fish served. The Golden fried basa was to die for.
If you are in the mood for something more adventurous, go for the Hawaian pork chops with Sweet chilli apple. It is pork chop marinated and grilled topped with sweet cilli apple and served with roasted vegetable and mashed potato.
We reserved some space in our tummies for the dessert and we were not disappointed. Try their Fried ice cream with rum glaze and Death by chocolate. You would be left licking your fingers!
