Try a variety of seafood at Mahesh Lunch Home

The highlight of Mahesh Lunch Home is its coastal menu. For a personalised experience, you get to choose the crab or tiger prawns before they are prepared for you. Established by SC Karkera in 1977, Mahesh Lunch Homes's popularity has grown in leaps and bounds and the place has a loyal clientele, which includes political and corporate luminaries from Maharashtra.

The restaurant has hosted celebrity guests such as Lata Mangeshakar and her family, Jaya Bachchan, Suman Rangnathan, Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Nana Patekar, Reema Lagoo, Tej Sapru, Johnny Lever among others.

Among the must-try dishes at Mahesh Lunch Home are their signature dishes -- Tawa Masala Fry, Fish Kolai, Butter Pepper Garlic, Crab in Chilly Garlic, Fish Fry in Hariyali. Try any of the gravies with the Neer Dosa -- a thin, rice dosa thatu00a0 melts in your mouth.

For starters, Prawn Butter Pepper Garlic, Squid Koliwada or the Tandoori Lobster taste divine. Have them with Solkadi -- a blend of spice and tang that consists of coconut milk, ginger, curry leaves and kokum.u00a0 If you aren't in the mood for Solkadi you could even sip on wine with your meal.

The Tandoori Crab is a gastronomical delight. Other than that, the Tangy Prawn Curry (with a coconut base) goes well with the Appam, Neer Dosa as well as steamed rice. There is a variety of fried fish on the menu too. Vegetarians need not worry, as the menu offers a wide range of dishes such as Paneer Makhanwala, Vegetable Kadai, Veg Mallipuram, Veg Handi and Jeera Aloo Udaipuri. The taste of the Dal Tadkewali lingers on for long.

The essence of Mahesh Lunch Home does not lie only in its food but also in its ambience. The well-placed tables give you enough privacy while the soft lighting and comfortable seating add to the ambience.

The service at Mahesh Lunch Home is efficient and friendly. Unlike most seafood/ coastal restaurants, the staff, led by Ronald D'Souza and executive chef Lakshmeesha Poojary, is committed to make sure the patrons have a good time at the Sakinaka branch.

Commenting on the taste buds of the customers, NT Poojari, co-owner of the Sakinaka branch states that the team keeps in mind both the Indian and foreign customers. "Japanese customers prefer live crab and tiger prawns in lemon sauce as well as Steamed Crabs. The Europeans and the Americans love the flavours of the Manglorean spices and prefer the authentic fare. But gravies like Chilli Pepper Garlic and Butter Pepper Garlic top the list," he says. Mahesh Lunch also provides an option of free homes delivery within five kilometers.
