As soon as we enter, we are informed that Trikaya is a Sanskrit term for the three states or manifestations of Lord Buddha. We are also told about their other sprawling setup in Pune. While not straggling expansive, this 2,700 square feet eatery is a massive wood structure made up of a bar and an indoor and outdoor dining area.
The Rendang Lamb Curry was the star of the evening, helped
mainly because of its mild spicing
It's resonant with elaborate woodwork and dim lights. While stylish, it's not overwhelmingly classy enough to justify the price tag. We begin with a cocktail, The Deerhunter (Rs 550) that is the classic Mojito all parts Fresh lime and mint muddled with vanilla sugar and J germeister.

Tingly, but when 1/4th of the glass is filled with ice, its steep. The food menu at Trikaya is neatly organised. An exhaustive list of popular dishes from Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Burma, China and Singapore populate the pages. There are also soups, small plates, dim sums, chargrills, curries and stir-fried dishes.
The Bacon Wrapped Prawns (Rs 700) were traditional hangout! It's been a while since I found a place where I enjoyed eating the bacon-wrapped shrimp.
The Bacon Wrapped Prawns impressed with its indulgent appeal
Trikaya makes them wonderfully indulgent. One doesn't need anything beyond good quality prawns and baconu00a0 but this dish can go wrong. These were perfectly delicious and the prawns were pink and juicy. Now, if only the bacon had been a tad crispier it wouldn't have fallen apart so easily.
The Rendang Lamb Curry (Rs 450) is one of the most traditional and familiar dishes to emerge from the South East Asian cuisine family. This spicy meat dish finds its origins in an ethnic group of Indonesia, the Minangkabau and is now commonly served across the world.

To elaborate it to in layman's terms, it tastes like a caramelised beef curry. This dish, best enjoyed in lamb, gets the right amount of mild spicy lingering texture and just the right amount of turmeric spice in the curry. It was the best dish on the menu for the evening.
The Chicken Burnt Garlic Jasmine (Rs 350) is a fragrant wok fried jasmine rice mix of chicken topped with burnt garlic. While the sticky rice is tasty, the portions aren't enough for two people.
The Red Velvet Cake (Rs 350) was a bright red layer cake topped with a cream cheese icing. This dessert was moist and tender, not too sweet, with an extra wink of flavour. The layers were in harmony with an alluringly rich fluff of soft creamcheese and the cocoa had a noticeable presence in them.
