Model-turned-actor Arjan Bajwa doesn't believe in simply building biceps. "I believe in core fitness rather than just pumping iron in the gym," he says. A martial arts buff, Arjan likes to exercise moderately. He shares his fitness secrets:
Weighty issue
I have realised that I need to workout regularly to maintain my body's metabolism. Sometimes, I notice that I lose weight faster when I don't work out. I believe in a moderate exercise regime. I do weights for 45 minutes daily followed by some cardio exercises. But I don't lift very heavy weights per se.
Sporty fit
I have been practising taekwondo for quite some time now. Martial arts comprises a lot of cardio, so that compensates for the moderate cardio in the gym. It also builds your mental strength. As a student, I played volleyball and table tennis.
Whenever I can, I play a few rounds of badminton with the kids in my society or a game of tennis at a nearby club. These sports build stamina and muscle strength in your legs, which is necessary for an actor.u00a0
Disciplined diet
As a rule, I avoid deep fried and spicy food. Since I am a teetotaller, I don't have to work out to burn alcohol in my system. I consume five-six small meals a day, as it increases the body's metabolism. My breakfasts are heavy while dinner is quite light with some soup and grilled chicken or vegetables. I have one glass of beetroot, carrot or fresh lime juice in the mornings to detoxify my system.
I don't believe in the funda of avoiding carbohydrates, proteins or fats. Your body requires everything in the right amount. I have a teaspoon of ghee/butter once a day. Your face loses its radiance if you deprive it of fats.

Gaming fun
I like to beat stress by watching films either at home or at the theatre. Besides, I am a huge fan of gaming. On holidays, you will find me engrossed with my PS3. Gaming requires 100 per cent concentration and is a huge stress buster.
