Kapil Singhi, author of InsFire to Win, tells you why it's important to encourage entrepreneurship among young Indiansu00a0

Kapil Singhi is a young entrepreneur who heads a consultancy group, runs a fast food chain and owns a printing press. Heu00a0 has now stepped into the field of writing with his book, InsFire to win.

The beginning

"I studied in MATS School of Business at JP Nagar and while doing my MBA, I started my own company called Brain Work Consultancy. My dad owns a printing press and I took over the management from him," he says, explaining how he came to wear so many hats.

"I always wanted to be an entrepreneur. I could reach out to people through my various other business ventures. But I also wanted to inspire leadership qualities in others and show how to make money out of any business. That is when I decided to write a book," says Kapil.

"At Brain Work, we conduct corporate training for people from companies like Godrej, Airtel, Tally and others. We train them on entrepreneurship, innovation, business strategies and personality development. We promote new business ventures. We show interest towards those individualsu00a0 who have innovative ideas but lack financial support to turn their dreams into reality. We provide them with funds. We are now running five such projects," he says.

Kapil believes that a trainer plays a very influential role in a young professional's life. "When you are doing your MBA, you are focused on finding a good job. Even if you are bursting with ideas, you want to be financially stable first. But I believe that accepting the first job offer that comes your way is not always the right thing to do. Many of us get bogged down and diverted from our dreams. After training sessions, lots of people have come up to me and said they want to give entrepreneurship a serious shot, but I make it a point to tell them about the challenges and the pitfalls. In the final analysis, it is better to be your own boss," he says.

On his fast food chain, Chatpat, Kapil says, "It was my friend's idea to start a typical North Indian fast food chain. We have one mobile unit and one outlet near Chikpet, which is the city's commercial hub. We are also planning to open a vegetarian lounge bar at Koramangala that will offer mocktails."

What next?

"If you hire effective people to look after your business, you need not be around. So I have lot of time in hand where I can think of many more business ventures," says Kapil.

"I want youngsters today to know what business is all about. A book is a vital medium to connect people. Through this book I am suggesting that people can enjoy a good life, while running a profitable business," he adds.
