Simon Cowell, who is in America filming the second season of X Factor USA, was spotted driving down LA's Sunset Boulevard with a plaster behind his ear, last week. Had TV's most caustic tongue gone in for a nip and tuck?

Call him Mr Vain?

While Cowell’s people have denied that the British TV and music producer has had any ‘work’ done, we take a closer look at the man, who makes a living by telling it like it is. Details on the 52-year-old’s lifestyle, based on interviews and details from an unauthorised biography by Tom Bower, published in April of this year.u00a0At best, you might benefit from a diet or exercise tip — at worst, you might feel a little sympathy for the man who pays more than £2 million, a year, on taxes

Twice-yearly botox jabs: When asked who he would like to see star in a film on his life, Cowell quipped that George Clooney was an option, though he would need “a bit of botox” to play the part

Cowell goes for regular colon cleansing sessions: “it’s so cleansing — and it makes my eyes shine brighter.”

He has had his teeth capped, dyes his hair and goes for chest waxes — “I am definitely vain. But to be honest with you, I can’t think of one person who is on TV who isn’t vain. It’s the nature of the beast.”

Salad and fish for lunch, followed by assorted veggies and chicken for dinner. His weaknesses? Fish and Chips, chocolate cookies, potato chips and Spaghetti Bolognese

The TV judge has a (MOSTLY) LIQUID BREAKFAST: The ritual begins with hot water with lemon, followed by papaya juice with lime, tea, three types of ‘special’ smoothies, including one made with spinach, banana, lemon and (exactly) 12 ice cubes. Breakfast ends with a bowl of oatmeal

Laughter is the best medicine: After breakfast, Cowell typically watches The Flintstones and Tom & Jerry for a perspective on life, as he admits to finding the news “too serious”

The music mogul is allegedly put on a vitamin DRIP for a half-hour each week, during which he is given intravenous doses of vitamins B and C, and Magnesium

He works out regularly— “I’ll do 500 push ups in a day, religiously, and if I can I like to have a workout.” “I work out a lot. I take care of myself.” Cowell follows up his workout with a steam bath.u00a0
