Ever since it was launched in 2013, the Chevrolet Enjoy has never really hit it off in the Indian car market. And as a part of its continuous efforts to attract more customers towards the MPV, General Motors has now done some serious chopping on its prices across all variants in the ongoing festive season.
After the price revision, the base variant now costs just Rs 4.99 lakh for the petrol and Rs 5.99 lakh for the base 8-seater diesel in its LS trim. On the other hand, the top-spec Chevrolet Enjoy LTZ petrol 7-seater has become cheaper by Rs 1.8 lakh, at Rs 6.24 lakh. The diesel top-spec has also plummeted down by Rs 1.93 lakh to a price of Rs 9.17 lakh.
There was a dark cloud of doubt over the future of the car in India when it was rumoured to be discontinued by the American manufacturer. But this move suggests that GM is intent on giving it one last shot to expand the reach of the Enjoy beyond fleet owners. At Rs 4.99 lakh, the MPV now undercuts competition from the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Honda Mobilio; and should find itself in the reckoning for family buyers on the hunt for a wagon.
As mentioned earlier, the car offers both petrol and diesel powerplants under the hood. While the petrol is a 1.4-litre four-pot motor that produces 100PS of power and 131Nm of peak torque, the diesel mill is a 1.3-litre four-cylinder unit that is good for 75PS and 172Nm. Power is transmitted from both the engines via five-speed manual gearboxes.
