The Guide tells you about a dance performance that will take you on a journey to experience the various facets of love

Dance exponent Swapnil Dagliya considers the art form to be the confluence of the mind and body. "It is my creative outlet, something which gives meaning to my life. It is my addiction as well," he states. Dagliya alongwith members from his dance academy will stage The Four Loves, a dance show about about love. "Just like dance, love is also varied, vast, abstract and undefinable. It is something to be experienced."

The origin of The Four Loves interestingly was a write-up that Dagliya came across followed by the book by CS Lewis. "Our work is loosely based on the book The Four Loves, but it focuses on expressing love from the perspective of Christianity," he states.

The four aspects of love being emphasized throughout the play are the Greek concepts if Storge (affectionate or familial love), Philia (friendship), Eros (romantic love), Agape (spiritual love or charity). All these stages can be experienced in our normal interactions everyday through the touch of a mother, a hug from a friend, a comfortable silence with your lover or just in being in harmony with yourself.

"The dance performance is divided into four acts and each act deals with one kind of love," he adds.
Dagliya, who is the creative director of Space Studio, admits that contemporary dance which is the genre of the dance performance is not commercial, but quite thought-provoking. "Frankly, this dance form has not got enough recognition and is often shown as gimmicky. Actually, I would say, it is more about emotions and is very personal. I connected with this dance form because it is very individualistic. It gave me the creative outlet that I wanted," he elaborates.u00a0
