Perfect mix
“The Indian social dynamic is designed for social and personal shopping. We combine the best of technology, e-commerce and personal service for a unique shopping experience for the customer. In addition, our business model gives women an opportunity to create their own jewellery business. Our goal is to create fashion entrepreneurs, who run their own business their own way and don’t have to worry about the huge investments, inventory issues, or day-to-day hassles,” says Pandya, who is the co-founder and CEO of Pipa & Bella.
Pandya, an MBA from Wharton School of Business, explains that their target audience is people who wish to become fashion entrepreneurs. “Our stylists have two things in common — first, they love fashion and secondly, they are entrepreneurs in their own right. These two commonalities bring them together in a way that’s enjoyable, yet a productive learning environment for all,” Pandya adds. She considers it particularly amazing to be able to see their stylists reaching out to one another for support and help in making each other a part of the Pipa & Bella family.
Yes, you can too
Becoming a fashion entrepreneur with Pipa & Bella is simple. Anyone looking for a flexible career opportunity can become a stylist. There is no specific criterion, except that people who are applying should plan to organise a trunk show within the first month of their becoming a stylist. “We help our stylists through the process and have monthly training sessions to guide them on how to increase their own business,” specifies Pandya.u00a0The online platform also launches five to seven collections per season. The pieces start at R300 and go up to approximately Rs 4,000.
What’s in a name?
On the name, Pandya reveals, “We wanted our brand to reflect the modern Indian woman and her ability to carry her own style confidently. Pipa in colloquial Spanish means to have fun. Bella in Italian is someone who is organised, demure, classic and graceful. The idea is that we are all a little bit of both, but can most likely relate to one more than the other. Our products reflect the same diversity — from bold, statement pieces to delicate, simple and classic pieces.”u00a0
