So you thought Indian food is best avoided in this heat? Think again. Fire at The Park has laid out a summer menu that's hard to resist.

You need the soul of Genghis Khan to survive the Delhi summer. And Indian food is definitely not what you need at a time like this. But The Park is always a good idea whether for a late night jig or a scrumptious lunch at the Fire.



So when we were asked to try out the new summer menu at Fire, the favourite haunt of foodies who dig pan-Indian fare in Delhi, we agreed. We were assured olive oil would be used in the preparation of the dishes and hence the food would be rather light. That as we were to find out would turn out to be what the management types refer to as the factor differentiator.

Vegetables are the highpoint the menu. And though I prefer to go through life by feeding off animal meat of all kind, I have to admit leaves too can taste good! We ordered the Palak Ka Bura, with organic spinach and ginger. The Sev Tameta Ni Tarkari and Phansachi Bhaji (jackfruit preparation from the Maharastrian kitchen).



Vegetarian food tasted and appreciated, we turned towards the non-vegetarian fare. The gilawati kebabs are to die for. But there'su00a0 a surprise here instead of mutton, if you have the paneer you won't regret it. Take our word this, we are hard-core meat eaters, but these guys know how to please you with vegetarian food.

Then there's the Masala Sea Bass, from the new menu, that has all the right spices (coriander, curry leaves, garlic) and is grilled to taste. Also order the Khumb Hara Pyaaz (cepes, morels, oysters and button mushrooms cooked in separate gravies).

There bread basket ia also rather interesting with jowar, bajra and multigrain rotis which can be had with pure ghee. For the desserts try the Shrikhand Cheesecake. And also the Paan Ki Rasmalai.u00a0 And yes, do try their special coolers. The ice will help cool you down as you embark on this wonderful gastronomical journey.
