Creative's new portable speaker, Woof 2, not only delivers quality sound, but also lasts for almost eight hours on a single recharge
Creative Woof 2 Speakers
After spending a week with Creative's latest portable speaker, the Woof 2, we are quite confident that it might arguably be the best portable speaker in the sub-Rs 4,000 range.

Why? For starters, the sound quality is nice, and can easily fill up a room of 12x10 sq ft. We played tracks from different genres — from Classic Rock, Hip Hop, EDM to the Blues, and it did a good job across these genres.
Unfortunately, Creative hasn't revealed any information about the driver sizes, so there's not much that can be said on that front. However, the Woof 2 scores well for its intuitive functions including an auto sleep mode, which helps preserve battery life; and a powerful microphone. This function, intelligently, switches off between your phone conversation and music, returning to playback, after your conversation. Apart from the Bluetooth 3.0, it also comes with an aux-in support, thus extending its usage. We were also impressed with the battery life. The device can comfortably last up to seven hours in the wireless mode and above 12 hours in the wired mode.
Designwise, the Woof 2 gets a sleek pyramid-like shape. It fits well in your palm (or your backpack) and is available in three charming colours — gunmetal, silver and blue.
The controls are well-placed, and easy to navigate. While the hands-free button sits on top of the pyramid speaker, the play controls are hidden smartly in its cylindrical base right under the hood. You can increase or decrease sound, play and pause, as well skip tracks.
Unfortunately, the volume cannot be changed in the wired mode (3.5mm aux-in), and was a let down. We also didn't like the positioning of the mini-USB port, which can be difficult to reach.
But overall, Creative has done a great job with the Woof 2, making it a good choice in the sub- Rs 4,000 range.
