How to fight the summer tan?

Detanning facial: Mix five teaspoons of oat flour, half-a-tomato juice, 1/2 cucumber juice, two teaspoons curd or fresh milk cream and one teaspoon of lemon juice and then apply the pack on the neck and face. Leave the face pack for some time and when it begins to dry then gently rub it with your fingers and then wash off with milk or with water. This will help you get rid of tanned skin and increase the softness and glow of your skin.

The handy home remedy guide

The Fresh Fruit Mask: Blend a slice of apple, peach, two strawberries and about half-a-banana. Add a teaspoon of honey to this. You can also mash this with the back of a fork if you don’t want a runny consistency. Apply on the face and neck and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water. This mask is suitable for all skin types. Strawberry as an ingredient helps not only in cleansing the skin but it also reduces the dullness from the tanned skin. However, strawberries are acidic; so make sure you avoid its application anywhere close to the eyes. Honey and apple make your skin soft and banana cleanses the skin thoroughly, whereas, peach tightens it, and has anti-ageing qualities. In addition, fruit masks not only cool the skin but also provide a natural glow.

Tomatoes can be used for detanning

Cucumber and Yogurt Mask: Grate a cucumber and squeeze out the excess water. Add to this a tablespoon of thick yogurt and half-a-teaspoon of honey. Apply as a thick layer on the face and neck and leave it on for at least 20-30 minutes. Gently massage to remove the mask and wash off with lukewarm water. Pat dry. This mask is very good for people with dry skin as it moisturises and hydrates your skin. Cucumber has very high water content, and is great for keeping the skin hydrated. Yogurt too serves as an ideal cooling agent. Honey is naturally anti-bacterial; it moisturises the skin and also helps in getting rid of acne.

Cucumber keeps the skin hydrated

Besan and rose water: Mix together one teaspoon of besan (chickpea flour) with a pinch of turmeric. Add 5-6 drops of lemon juice to this, and mix to a smooth paste consistency with organic rose water. Apply this pack on your face and neck and leave it for about 15 minutes. Wash off with cold water. This mask is suitable for all skin types, except sensitive skin. Besan has the ability to tighten skin naturally and bring about a natural glow. It also helps in fighting out a number of skin problems like dull and lifeless skin, acne, dark skin, as a blemish buster and for removal of unwanted hair. Rose water is
effective because it refreshes the skin, hydrates it almost instantly, and leaves the skin feeling alive and fresh.
