The fact that it took us over 15 minutes to find the place, did put us off a bit. Their jarring red signboard with Full House displayed in bold, didn't do much to lift our spirits either.
We entered the place feeling a little skeptical, and saw a kitchen right there. We looked around for a seating area, but instead of that came across a fleet of stairs leading to the first floor. In a place like Mumbai, where a small room can cost you a fortune this is the best they could do, we figured.
Mexican Stud
We walked up the stairs only to realise that Full House was a reference to the Full house in Poker. With Coolidge's famous painting of dogs playing poker adorning the walls and table and menu cards with people playing poker on them, the entire d ufffdcor of the small room was based on the theme of poker.
The ambience was nice and young, we thought as a mix of Hindi and English songs were being played in the background. With a handful of starters and a limited option of vegetarian and non-vegetarian pizzas, we were a tad disappointed at the limited options.u00a0 We asked for Jacket potatoes with Cheese and Corn (Rs 75) for starters. We went on to order a veg On the Felt pizza (Rs 385) and a non-veg Mexican Stud (Rs 375).
The names of most of the dishes seemed to have an association with poker and surprisingly, the non-veg dishes and veg dishes were similarly priced. Apart from the fact that the attendant was a tad confused, one thing we sure want to complain about is the time taken to serve us our order. The starter took about 20 minutes to reach out table and the pizzas took a little over half an hour. A bite into our starter and we didn't feel like complaining any longer. With lots of cheese, it was a sure winner with cheese lovers.
The pizzas we ordered were 12 slice pizzas and one slice was surely enough to fill two hungry people's stomachs. In pizzas you had the option between 12 slice and 16 slice pizzas or you simply could order slices.
But all slices will of be from a 16 inch pizza. We should have ordered slices we thought later, but the friends we took back the remaining of the pizzas to, were happy we didn't. The Mexican Stud, with chicken, cheddar cheese and salsa mix tasted great, as did the vegetarian one. We had Tang (Rs 25), with our pizzas, which was part of the beverage section along with soft drinks.
The food here is nice, what they really need to do is spruce up the service and learn to make it quick.
