Take your kids to watch a host of entertaining films at the Monsoon Dhamal film festival organised by The National Film Archive of India

Kids can enjoy movies like Dost Magarmachch, Asmaan Se Gira and Charandas Chor at a film festival for kids, starting tomorrow. The festival titled Monsoon Dhamal has been organised by the National Film Archive of India and will go on till June 26. The film screenings will be held at NFAI auditoriums and will include films, which are both entertaining in animation as well as in live action made by the Children's Film Society of India. Some of the films to be screened are directed by veterans like Shyam Benegal, Prabhakar Pendharkar and Virendra Saini. Many of the films have also won awards at national and international film festivals.

Prashant Pathrabe, director, NFAI says that there is no age limit set for the festival. "Even an 18-year-old can enjoy the films because they are a combination of animation and fiction. We are also screening films directed by some prominent names in the industry." Pathrabe adds that parents are also welcome to accompany their children for the film screenings if there is enough space in the auditorium.

Some of the films being screened include Abhay (Annu Kapoor), Choo Lenge Akash (Virendra Saini), Manpasand (Dhvani Desai), Kathputli (animation)u00a0 (Charmi Chedda), Jaise Ko Taisa (animation) (Madhav Kunte), Hungama Bombay Ishtyle, Malli (Santosh sivan),u00a0 Charandas Choru00a0 (Shyam Benegal), Rhino (Shashank Shankar), Rikki Tikki Tavi (prabhakarPendhekar), Bal Shivaji(A.Zaguridi and Surendra Suri) and Prince and the crown of stone (Gautam Benegal).u00a0
