If we go by an Instagram photo which went viral online on multiple forums during a closed-door event for NASCAR in the US, we can clearly see the new Toyota Camry flaunting its aggressive nose. However, the car in question here is designed specially for NASCAR racing so certain accessories are customized. That said, the new aggressive front does look strikingly sporty and is something that one would not relate with an executive sedan like Camry.
The picture also falls perfectly in place with Toyota’s new philosophy as Akio Toyoda, president and CEO of Toyota Motor Corporation recently emphasised on creating more exciting products both visually and dynamically in the future. Going by the picture, if it does turn out to be true, the new 2018 eighth-generation Toyota Camry will borrow cues from its luxury arm Lexus with a spindle grille design. The Toyota badge sits right at the top of the grille with a T-shaped sharp pattern with aggressive creases running from the bonnet. The sharp air dam cuts at the corners of the front bumper and slim LED lights blend perfectly to give us a sporty design.
However, the exact design can only be stamped once we get more official info from the Japanese car manufacturer. While what is confirmed is -- its platform which will be based on the flexible Toyota Next-Generation Architecture. This being a super-light platform making use of new age light-weight materials, we can expect the 2018 Camry to be lean by shedding substantial weight.
As far as India is concerned, Toyota does consider the Indian market as one of the most promising for its portfolio. With battle heating up in this segment with the upcoming new Honda Accord, we won’t be surprised if the 2018 Camry makes its India debut in line with the rest of the world.
