Dell has completely refreshed its line of Inspiron R series laptops, giving playful users the ability to change the exterior color and design as often as they change their outfit.
Dell's Inspiron R series are the first laptops to feature Dell's new SWITCH by Design Studio interchangeable lids. The vibrant covers are easily attachable and currently come in 25 new designs (with more on the way).

"Carefully selected from Dell Design Studio's curated collections, the contemporary art and graphic designs available from SWITCH by Design Studio offer exclusive selections from outstanding independent artists, designers and partners including OPI and Threadless and charitable partners, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and (PRODUCT) RED, where a portion of proceeds benefit each organization, respectively," said Dell in a March 17 press release.
Underneath the designs, the 14-, 15- and 17-inch laptops come with second-generation Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processor options, high-definition displays, Wireless Display technology, a new Chiclet-style keyboard, Windows 7 Home Premium and up to 13 hours of battery life. Dell's customers have previously been able to customize their laptops with designs from its Design Studio, however, once these designs are "tattooed" on to the laptop, they are permanent and difficult to remove.
The Laptop customization market is starting to thrive as customers seek out new ways to differentiate their device from the rest of the crowd. Companies such as GelaSkins, Schtickers and Infectious have teamed up with artists and designers to provide innovative ways to take laptops from boring to wow.
