Finnish telecom company, Nokia received a patent from U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for developing a smart phone that will be foldable in nature and will resemble a pocket mirror, reports stated. With the introduction of foldable smart phones, Nokia will be entering the race of foldable smart phones and compete with other giants like Apple and Samsung.

According to reports, Apple has already received its patent for foldable iPhones and Samsung is expected to launch its first foldable smart phones in 2017. Nokia applied for the patent way back in 2013 and got it approved in September 2016.

Nokia has decided to collaborate with HMD Global and roll out Android phones this year. This tie up between Nokia and HMD Global is hinting Nokia’s gradual success in the smart phone industry, something which the mobile giant lost with the introduction of Windows phone.
