Now, Mumbai's potholes inspire a play

T Pot Production's new play ufffd Chaar Small ufffd includes a piece on a pothole that has a mind of its own. In it, Mumbai's harassed commuters might find something to relate to

The ever-chirpy Trishla Patel from T Pot Productions admits the inspiration for Laash-ting Impressions, a short play that she has penned, came from the menacing potholes on Mumbai's roads. "It doesn't matter where you are going, the roads are so bad in the monsoon. The dreadful potholes inspired me to write a story!" she says.

The short piece, Trishla tells us, is about a 'khadda' outside a residential colony, which changes the lives of the people who come in contact with it. "This khadda has a life of its own. As it grows, it begins affecting people, the local economy and eventually we see how it starts to affect the entire country," explains Trishla, in a rather sinister tone.

u00a0Laash-ting Impressions is one of the four 20 to 30-minute pieces that are part of Chaar Small. Trishla has
written another short play ufffd Same Same But Different ufffdwhile Sanjay Dadhich has written Dadu Tiwari and Purva Naresh has written Do Deewaney. Like Laash-ting Impressions, Dadu Tiwari and Do Deewaney are also inspired by life in the city. Trishla's other piece is based on the journey of two people from the World War-ridden 1940s to the present day.u00a0u00a0
