The British Council is hosting an exhibition-cum-discussion titled Beyond the Frame: India in Britain (1858-1950), which will showcase the little-known but long history of the Indian presence in Britain.

The material on display highlights some of the exchanges and encounters that took place in Britain from the period of the Raj to the early years of independence across spheres of politics, arts and sports.

This exhibition will help one get a different perspective on the history of the Indian-British connection. The event will kickstart with a panel discussion on India in Britain 1858-1950 with Professor Susheila Nasta, Dr Florian Stadtler, and Prof Nilufer Bharucha and will be chaired by historian JV Naik.
