For those of you facing the heat with little hard cash for petty or daily expenses, here’s a little respite, courtesy Scootsy. The delivery and discovery app has introduced a new feature called ‘Pay Later’ for its regular customers, keeping in mind the current cash situation. Using the app, you can order from a wide range of essentials including food, books, cosmetics and more.
Thanks to this new feature, not only can you order from the comfort of your home, but you can also save those R100 notes for a more urgent scenario. Rishi Khiani, MD of Scootsy says, “We realised our customers were going to face a cash crunch due to the demonetisation and, in order to ease their burden, we came up with the pay later solution. We took 24 hours from the time of Modi’s announcement to roll out this option, which now enables our regulars to continue their daily purchases. Additionally, since we acted quickly, we haven’t seen any dip in orders.”
It works like this: the app has added credit to all its regular customers’ accounts. Add your order to the cart and select ‘Pay Later’ as your payment option. A reminder about the payment will be sent to you after 15 days. Customers who can’t see the option can drop an email to paylater@scootsy.com for verification.
