A working professional and three students who are obsessed with music decided to start the music band Swastika, which in Sanskrit means well being or lucky charm. The band includes Varun Singh (bass), Uday Nair (guitar), Abhishek Debsikdar (drum) and Tanvar Ahmed Kar (vocals) who will present their original songs at Swig tonight. Since they have come together 1.5 years ago, the members have been playing a lot of originals in alternative, hard rock and experimental music.

After performing at the Hard Rock Calling event London, which was held in January and February, the members have cut down on gigs. "We have been working on our songs as we are planning to come out with our album later this year. We have been concentrating completely on the songs," said Singh. At the gig, they will be performing some of the originals which will be out in their album. "There will be around seven to eight originals and few covers including by Pearl Jam and other musicians," added Singh, who is a IT professional.u00a0
