Stoned, and loving it

I love chunky neckpieces. Period. They are your best bet to add spunk to a boring outfit ufffd be it a plain white shirt or your grandmum's sari.

Colaba Causeway is a favourite haunt to scout for these statement pieces, mostly available in the latest designs. Bibs, collars, acrylic ones — name it, and you’ll find it.

However on a recent trip to the store, Bombay Electric, I spotted a few beaded neckpieces, running a riot with their multicoloured hues. These beauties have been created by 26-year-old jewellery designer Preetika Dubey under her funky label Pretty Stoned.

“All my designs are art-inspired; so, you’ll find each of these bursting with colour,” elaborates Dubey, who hails from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh.
