Take home a piece of Parsi tradition

Starting today, Perveez Aggarwal wants you to explore intricate Parsi embroideries when you drop in at the exhibition displaying her label, My Beautiful Embroideries.

The exhibition is as much about Perveez's passion for embroidery as it is about the karigars (embroiders), who were displaced due to the 1992 communal riots in Mumbai.

While trying to help the karigars, Perveez decided to revive a dying tradition and chose to showcase Gara or antique Parsi embroidery style (originating from traditional Chinese textile motifs) under her label.

What differentiates Perveez's embroideries from others is the fusion of Chinese, Persian and Indian techniques going back centuries. At the three-day exhibition you can pick up Gara-embroidered sarees,
kurtis, jackets, scarves, stoles and skirts.u00a0
