Technology: 6 games to look out for in 2017

Injustice 2
When the studio behind Mortal Kombat makes a DC-based fighting game, you pay attention. While Injustice: Gods Among Us, was great, the roster count in Injustice 2 makes it a god level game.

It will feature the most number of DC characters ever featured in a game. You can upgrade their attributes with gear and a RPG-like system. What’s more, there are costume options too!
Publisher: Warner Bros
Developer: NetherRealm Studios
Release Date: Q1 2017

South Park: Fractured But Whole
After the success of The Stick of Truth, it was a given that there would be a sequel. Play as the new kid alongside your favourite South Park characters in this RPG game. The events take place after the end of the first game. You can choose from 12 superhero classes and this time around, you can choose your gender as well. The game is guaranteed to be hilarious in true South Park fashion.

God of War
Happy times in 2017 as Kratos returns. Sure, he is older and a little mellower than his older avatar, but now he has a son to help him along in his adventures. This time around, Kratos is targeting the Norse gods. The player will control Kratos through the entire game with the son playing a supporting role in the game. Kratos no longer has his double-chained blades. Instead, he now wields an axe. The bit of gameplay trailer shown online, proves that the series hasn’t lost its touch.

Red Dead Redemption 2
The year will see us get a new Red Dead game. Thank you Rockstar. It is arguably the best Western action-adventure game series around. Not much is revealed about the game other than a trailer, but we will be happy enough if the game is as good as its predecessors. Not to mention, the Undead more must be brought into this version too.
Publisher: Rockstar Games; Developer: Rockstar Studios
Release Date: Q4 2017

Special Mention
Death Stranding
Death Stranding, in all likelihood, won’t see light of day in 2017. But, if the trailers are anything to go by, creator Hideo Kojima is going for the big guns. He has already tied up with a lot of big names in Hollywood.
Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
Developer: Kojima Productions
Release Date: TBA

Gran Turismo Sport
Gran Turismo Sport was initially supposed to make its debut in 2016, but is now scheduled for this year. The game features the same beautiful graphics we know and love in Gran Turismo, but this time around, they have boosted the multiplayer element with weekly leaderboards and worldwide live championships. There are other features to appease fans. For example, superimpose your favourite car in real pictures with super realistic results. This game is sure to become a fan favourite.
