The infographic is based on the results of a survey conducted among 407 American adults across various social networks. While the survey sample may not be representative of social network users worldwide, it does show some interesting behavior among dog owners -- for example, that 14 percent of owners set up a Facebook account for their dog, 6 percent of dogs have a Twitter account and the same percentage have a Flickr account.
Of those dogs with a Facebook presence, 42 percent had between 1 and 25 friends, 22 percent had 25-50 friends, 20 percent had 50-100 friends, and 3 percent of social network-savvy dogs had a whopping 500+ friends.
According to Facebook statistics, the average user has 130 friends, meaning that 3 percent of dogs are more popular than the majority of Facebook users.u00a0u00a0
However, even the most popular dog has a long way to go before reaching Eminem standards of popularity. According to www.famecount.com, the rapper recently became the most "liked" person on Facebook; he currently has over 29,786,636 "likes."
