To celebrate 50 years of human space flight, Nehru Planetarium has organised a special photo exhibition based on the Soviet pilot and cosmonaut Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin.
He created history by becoming the first human being to journey into outer space, when his Vostok spacecraft completed an orbit of the Earth on April 12, 1961.
After undergoing rigorous experiments designed to test physical and psychological endurance, Gagarin was chosen mainly because he was short enough to fit into the small Vostok cockpit.
Till April 30, 11 am to 6 pm
At First floor, Nehru Planetarium, Dr Annie Besant Road, Worli.
