It's a Skyye high party, every night at this highest adda in the city, raising the bar for all others on the tipple quotient

Got a reason to celebrat? What better way to party than at the highest nightclub creating ripples in Bangalore? Many days have passed by, since we reported about the mayhem that marred the first night of Skyye bar's public opening, despite the management hitting the jackpot, by upping the entry from Rs 2,500 to
Rs 5,000.

We dropped by last week to check if the crackle of excitement still resounds and thanked our stars it was a weekday.

All weekends on UB City's 16th floor still go choc-a-bloc. IPL cricket teams and the Mallyas - senior and junior, the latter with Deepika Padukone in tow, drop by too every time they're in town.

The fibreglass faux walls on all sides give it a larger than life impression with a 360-degree city view. Night-lights on the streets, pleasant starlit sky, peppy beats with neon lights on every charming al fresco table placed on faux glass floors and to top it all three different levels with three bars add to the spunk.

With all tables taken, most eyeballs on one side of the rooftop bar were facing the large television screen. In times of unpredictable rain showers, which our fair city is witnessing a lot off late, move in to consume some grog at the inner covered bar area and watch the pitter patter fall on the glass roofs.

From street smart to corporate chic, the hip and the young at heart were boogying around dressed to the hilt in their LBDs, knee length teasers, formal black suits and even ripped jeans and tees.

The drinks list is very extensive and innovative. And so are the pick-me-up nibbles and the surprise package - a dishy main course too. No wonder then that, the unhailed hero of the techie, GenX, chef Vivek Salunke, is a hot favourite of the guests who call on him to sip a drink or two with them on the tables.

We clinked our glasses to 6 O'Clock Skyye (R 425) at about 10 o'clock at night, which was a heady, sweet concoction of white rum, melon syrup, melon, strawberry and a dash of triple sec.

Devil in the Night Skyye (R 350), tweaked our evening rendezvous on the devilish side with a potent mix of dark rum, Baileys, chocolate syrup and hazelnut.

Neither too high on the sugar or cream content, nor on alcohol, the Devil is what we're heading back to Skyye for.

The Martinis are priced at R 475, Single Malts at about R 1,000 and the priciest sparkling wine, the Dom Perignon at Rs 35,000. The only catch we could spot here was in the Beer section, which houses only Kingfisher beer. Ahem!

Picking from the global cuisine on offer might be a tough choice, with a fair selection of Continental, Lebanese and Mediterranean. Try the Peri Peri Basted Chicken Shashlik (R 300), succulent chunks of chicken served on skewers here with a blue cheese dip. Pop the Crumbed Fish

(Rs 350) hot and see how the tender fried basa with a crunchy coat melts in your mouth. The food menu is getting bigger and better with a whole lot of new entrants.

Talk about getting sky high post a boogie session here. Well, you can literally reach a crescendo. Cheers!
