London: The best footage is usually captured on a smartphone, and now a new gadget could make watching memorable moments even more enjoyable. Instead of crowding around a tiny smartphone screen to view videos, the Smart Phone Projector lets you display the footage on any surface.

Blowing it up: The device has a 10X magnifying lens at the front to increase the video size on a wall, and a grip pad on the back to securely hold a smartphone in place Pic/Luckies of London
Made from cardboard, its simple design also claims to amplify the sound without the need for additional wires or a separate sound system.
The black-and-white device can be set up within minutes, and has a 10X magnifying lens at the front to increase the video size on a wall, and a grip pad on the back to securely hold a smartphone in place.
The projector was created by British firm Luckies from London, which wanted to develop a device that featured modern technology, but with a vintage feel.
While the portable gadget costs just £15.95 (Rs 1,627) and can turn any room in your home into a cinema screen, there are a number compromises. For instance, the projection is dim, small, and can often be blurry.
The device also lacks volume controls. And, you can’t use your phone while playing a film, and stopping the footage or fast-forwarding can be tricky.
