Gone are the days when people plugged only memory sticks into the universal serial bus connector

I have heard about an editor, who, fed up with the mistakes that his staff made, actually threatened to make people who made mistakes eat the page on which it was printed.

Whether or not he ever carried out this threat I do not know, but in the future, anybody will be able to eat the news if a certain gadget to burn news on toast is ever manufactured.

Such concept devices apart, there are quite a few interesting devices today that can be used to connect to your USB.

Why USB, you many ask, why not the power socket directly? One advantage of the USB slot is that you can access it on the move if you have a laptop that is fully juiced up.

Now, without any further talk, let's consider some interesting USB devices!

Keep your cool: Ok, so you can connect anything to a USB device, but a fridge for heaven's sake? This device can be used to cool one can and, like your fridge at home, it too comes with an internal LED light.

All the news that is fit to eat: This concept device was created by designer Sung Bae Chang and it even made it to the finals of a design competition held by appliance manufacturer Electrolux. This gizmo connects to your PC via a USB port, downloads data and burns it on your toast.

Through the looking glass: This microscope transfers images to your PC and you will love it if you hate squinting into the lens of your traditional microscope.
