This is because, both phones have been rated at IP67 standards, which is higher than previous models but when compared to other brands fall relatively short. Also, there's no IP code talk about what happens to them when they come in contact with boiled water.

Well, a YouTuber has answered this question in the form of a video to those, who are wondering it. In the video, an iPhone in which a song is playing on YouTube (to check if the speakers will work) is submerged in a pot of boiling water for about a minute.

After getting submerged, the music, which was playing stopped and phone screen went black. Apart from being a little heated, all features on the iPhone 7 seemed to work surprisingly after the smartphone was taken out of the water. The man then once again submerged the phone for 5 minutes, which when taken out showed no signs of damage or smoke, only that there was a temperature warning, which said it needs some time to cool off. The iPhone was fully functional after 10 minutes.
