It is likely to become the most economical 1.0-litre offering in the country!

Datsun is all set to launch a more powerful 1.0-litre version of its entry-level offering, the Redi GO. Since day one, this Japanese hatchback is following the proven recipe of its French sibling, the Kwid: a spacious cabin, an impression of a crossover and an economical price tag! The redi-GO has now borrowed the Kwid’s flagship 1.0-litre motor as well!
It gets the same tune as the Kwid 1.0L, however, unlike the latter, it only comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Kwid also offers an AMT (automated manual transmission) option with this 1.0-litre motor, which might be added to the redi-GO at a later stage.

When compared to the 0.8-litre version, there are no cosmetic changes in the Redi Go 1.0-litre version, save for the ‘1.0’ badge at the back. On the inside, the 1.0-litre version gets an all-black theme, which was first seen on the ‘Sport’ avatar of the regular model. The new version will also be offered with central locking with keyless entry and there’s a lock/unlock switch on the centre console for the same. Rest of its features such as audio system (no Bluetooth connectivity), front power windows, driver airbag among others will be carried over
The redi-GO 1.0-litre will only be available in two variants and is expected to be priced roughly around Rs 25-30,000 more than the standard version.
