Having a passion and turning the passion into a profession are two different things. Very few people manage to live life by their dreams. RJ Dixi, one of the profound names of Gujarat has rightly made her career one of the most lucrative professions. The Radio Jockey who originally goes by the name Dixita Wagheshwari currently works at Radio City 91.1 FM and is considered to be among the few versatile RJs in the state. Known for her bubbly and jovial nature, RJ Dixi is a ball of energy who has never failed to mesmerize the audience with her entertaining acts on the air.
Born in a Gujarati family in Ahmedabad, the talented artist is an English literature graduate. Like every proud parent, Dixi’s parents wanted her to pursue a Master’s degree and then become a professor. Having enrolled for the Master’s degree in English Literature, she could not complete the post graduation course. But little did Dixita know that destiny had something better in the store for her. “I remember that I bunked college on several occasions when I initially thought of completing my Master’s in English Literature. My inclination was less towards studies and more towards exploring creativity. I then pursued Master’s in Development Communication, CDC - Gujarat University”, said the RJ. As a part of her lazy routine, she applied for a job at Reliance Big FM in Vadodara in 2007. And guess what? RJ Dixi got selected for her job role, and since then there has been no looking back for her.
Beginning her career with a non-prime show, RJ Dixi earned great fanfare in a very less time. Her enthusiasm, energy and communication skills helped her bag the prime time show in the morning. Her career graph has always been on an upward trend and her popularity all over Gujarat seems to have no stopping. Later, the supremely talented artist worked at Red FM in Ahmedabad and Rajkot. From interacting with the common people to interviewing influential celebrities from the country, RJ Dixi has achieved it all in her extraordinary career. Her experience of more than a decade justifies how true the RJ has been to her profession.
Besides entertaining the audience on-air, RJ Dixi also loves to impart knowledge by making them aware of the latest happenings across the state. Earlier, she was appointed as the Brand Ambassador by the Gujarat Election Commission to let the people know the importance of voting. Through the channel, RJ Dixi is truly educating the audience in the best possible way. “I believe that my primary job is to deliver infotainment to my audience. Along with some light-hearted fun, I believe that my responsibility is to highlight the important events happening across Gujarat and the country” stated the RJ.
Looking back at her progressive journey, RJ Dixi feels fortunate to work in the media and entertainment industry. Inspiring many young girls and woman with her work, RJ Dixi gave a piece of advice by saying, “Don’t limit your potential. You are more than what you can think or imagine. Let your creativity flow, and always do what your heart says.” While concluding, the renowned RJ revealed that she loves the fact that her job makes thousands of people smile simply, and she shall continue doing what she does the best.
