Born in a lower-middle-class joint family from Bawana on the Delhi-Haryana border where both his parents had to work to make ends meet, Nishkarsh’s dreams as a kid were as bleak as that of his friends’ from Bawana. Life would have been the same, had his father not started his own business and failed miserably. This was when his parents had no money to pay his school fee which would often result in his humiliation at school. Nothing can justify the trampled morale, demolished self-confidence, and the indelible imprints these regular embarrassments leave on kids. This was 2006.

Who would have imagined that this very kid was going to build an eCommerce business of $4.5mn in revenue by 2021? Well, that’s the story of Nishkarsh Sharma – an e-commerce entrepreneur who not only built his own multi-million-dollar business but is now helping others build their dreams.

Some people are like rubber balls – the harder you hit them on the ground, the higher they bounce. When life gave him financial difficulties, he became financially stable before turning 25 – a dream for most people in their 30s. But such dreams are built on the foundations of hard work, determination, perseverance, and the ability to not give up in tougher times.

All the problems in his life made him a troubled kid. He would skip classes, fight with other kids and create all sorts of nuisances at school and home. In 2007, he almost failed in his class.

But the constant desire to be rich was always there. Inspired by his elder cousin, he wanted to become an engineer thinking this would solve his finances. His parents got him admitted into a coaching institute where he found a true mentor who made him work hard for his goals. Working day and night, Nishkarsh got admitted to Indraprastha University where he pursued his engineering degree in Computer Science. This is when he realized the true essence of mentorship.

Ever since then, he never looked back. Interning with over 20 companies like OLX, Micromax, Channel V, Lets Intern, WeChat, Viber, Freecharge, Star Sports, and other startups, Nishkarsh slowly entered the online service providing business and started Blisstro Videos that made animation videos for world-class brands. The desire to be rich remained unsatiated until he entered the e-commerce business in 2017.

That is when he started earning in 6 figures (USD). With continued hard work, an excellent strategy, and a dedicated team, he excelled in the eCommerce Print on Demand drop shipping business, mainly selling in the US, the UK, Canada, and the Australian markets.

Nishkarsh says, “My mother wanted me to do a regular job. She was against me starting up, perhaps owed to her experience with my father’s failed business and its impact on our family. But I couldn’t let go of any opportunity. I wanted to try, fail and try again, but never give up. Somehow, doing e-commerce wasn’t enough. I had to do more.”

Nishkarsh also runs a podcast on Spotify that goes by the name “The Nishkarsh Sharma Show” where he shares his story of hope and resilience with his fellow e-commerce entrepreneurs.

He says, “Life is too short to not try new things. We might win some and lose others. But what should form the crux of one’s life is the idea of NEVER GIVING UP”.
